About Us/Our Identity

Our
Identity

An independent standardization body at the intersection of technology, policy, and education — committed to responsible AI governance worldwide.

An Independent
Standardization Body

AIRI is an independent institute dedicated to the development and publication of internationally recognised standards for assessing human competency in the governance, control, and responsible use of artificial intelligence and robotics technologies.

We operate at the intersection of technology, policy, and education — recognising that effective AI governance requires not only technical expertise but also ethical literacy, policy understanding, and a commitment to human-centred values.

Our work is informed by the latest international frameworks, including UNESCO's AI Competency Frameworks, and is designed to be applicable across diverse national and institutional contexts. AIRI does not advocate for any particular technology vendor or political position; our sole mandate is the advancement of responsible AI and robotics governance through principled standardization.

Mission

To develop, publish, and promote internationally recognised standards and assessment frameworks that equip individuals, institutions, and governments with the competencies required to govern and control artificial intelligence and robotic systems responsibly.

Vision

A world in which every person who governs, deploys, or interacts with AI and robotic systems possesses the knowledge, skills, and values to do so safely, ethically, and effectively — for the benefit of all humanity.

Scope of Work

  • AI Education Standards (aligned with UNESCO frameworks)
  • Robotics Governance and Control Standards
  • The AIRRs Test — assessment and certification framework
  • Policy guidance for national AI strategies
  • Capacity building and knowledge dissemination
